Excel Constructors Receives an 'Excellence in Construction' Award for the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church

December 29, 2009 Press Release (Overland Park, KS) - Excel Constructors was presented the 'Excellence in Construction Award', in recognition of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church located in Leawod, Kansas. This magnificent $14 million dollar worship facility is 50,000 square feet, and the design is focused on theological elements. The sacred art and architecture reflect the reality of heaven with nearly every element intended to communicate a celestial message. The marble, bronze, columns, hand painted murals, and the ornate detailing, truly make this church a work of art.

Judges based their decision on the following criteria; special project characteristics, value engineering, management innovation, problem resolution, quality control, and use of merit shop techniques and firms. Safety represented a quarter of the total points.

The award designates Excel's eleventh recognition of Excellence in Construction, which includes the St. Michael the Archangel Education Center.
